WEDDINGS, TOURS & REUNIONS
The former St. Paul's Lutheran Church on the Village grounds is available for weddings, family reunions, one-time church services, etc. Events may be scheduled in the Church between mid-April and mid-November and will seat a maximum of 125 people (less than 120 is more desirable). There is a small dressing room at the front entrance; the back door opens into a small waiting area. Lights and electricity are available, but there is no climate control. The Church's original pump organ is operational and may be used for weddings and services. A list of local organists is available. Restrooms are available in the main Museum building.
WEDDINGS & CHURCH RENTAL
Weddings, family reunions and other events in the church may be booked, subject to the availability of the facility. Please come in during regular office hours or contact the Museum by telephone or e-mail to request a copy of the contract and rules for use of the facility.
For weddings, a non-refundable fee of $250 and a refundable deposit of $50, as well as a signed contract, are needed to confirm the desired date.
For reunions or other church events, a non-refundable fee of $175, accompanied by a signed contract, must be paid to secure the date desired. Weather permitting, the other Village buildings will be open and available for viewing. Arrangements can be made for staff or volunteers to provide guided tours.
The Church will be cleaned and ready for your celebration. Rehearsals may be scheduled for the day before the event. If additional time is needed for practice or decorating, please consult the Museum staff. Every effort will be made to ensure that your special day is a pleasantly memorable occasion.
GROUP TOURS
Tours for school children are available by making arrangements in advance.
Tours for adults (ages 16 and above) may be booked. Staff or volunteer guides will be available. The fee is $4 per person. Viewing the extensive quilt collection requires an extra $5 fee per person, no matter at what time the group is booked.
We try to tailor tours according to age and interests of the group involved. Please let us know how we may accomodate your needs.
The main Museum building is wheelchair accessible and a wheelchair is available. There are chairs placed conveniently throughout the area. Other buildings in the Village that have been constructed on site are also accessible. However, period buildings that were constructed elsewhere and moved to the Village may only be partially accessible.
MEALS
A delicious catered brunch, luncheon or dinner tour may be planned for your group. Tasty, down home cooking, enhanced by a tour of the facilities, if desired, may be arranged. Call or e-mail the Museum for menu selections and prices, starting at $9.50 per person. If you don't fancy a full meal, why not just have beverages and cookies for $4 per person?
All food services are subject to a non-refundable deposit of $25, with cancellation 48 hours in advance (except for severe weather). A final head-count is due 48 hours in advance.
You and your guests may also be entertained and informed with a variety of short programs. Fascinating facts about the collections in the Museum and Village are available as you tour. Or, would you prefer some sound bites of Kansas history? How about learning more about the B-29 Memorial Plaza? A quilt show, featuring the Museum's extensive collection, is available if you have time. Music and entertainment may also be arranged.
